Joan was born and raised in Minnesota, and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to attend the Academy of Art University to pursue her dream of studying design.

She has now been a professional designer for over 15 years. She’s worked as a Senior Designer, Illustrator, and Head Design Manager at Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma, creating best-selling products that have found a loving place in peoples’ homes.

Joan loves managing a team and sharing what she’s learned with designers who are just starting out. She also has a passion for creating original artwork and graphics, visual storytelling, and finding a way to connect with people through design.
